Who makes your greeting cards?
The Ekwendeni Youth AIDS Center is run by the Central
Church of Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) in Ekwendeni, Northern Malawi. The
center provides activities and HIV/AIDS eduction for local youth.
Some of the clubs include drama, music, paper making, games, and life
skills. The center leads HIV/AIDS stigma reduction campaigns in an
effort to raise a better understanding of the disease, and builds teams
of youth that provide home-based care for community members sick or
dying of AIDS.
Product description:
Dsenyo greeting cards feature a collage of repurposed African textile
remnants. The paper is 100% recycled
paper handmade by the youth at the Ekwendeni Youth AIDS Resource Center
in Malawi. Proceeds help fund home-based care efforts for AIDS
patients in the community. Cards are blank inside, perfect for thank
yous, birthdays and get wells. Each card is unique, textile placement
will vary.
